I want to upgrade the sound in my MY03 STI, and being an audiophile I thought that car acoustics would be a good starting point.

I've read in other soundproofing threads that soundproofing the roof will get good results, but I would need advice regarding which area of the car should be soundproofed.

Also, which sound deadening material would be recomended to use, and how much would cost me, considering UK prices.

cheers,
radu

pretty much everywhere should be sound deadened if you want as little road noise as possible. the floor, doors - inside trim and both sides of the door itself will not only reduce noise but make for a better sounding front end- more bass response, especially if you make the door as enclosed as possible. If you use dynamt, this would cost a fortune. other options are brown bread, deadening from brown brothers and marley tape - that does the job very well and costs about 15 quid a roll - just make sure you get the flashing tape as i've heard other stuf melts with a bit of heat on it!
