Talking

After um-ing and ah-ing about the sound of my OE McIntosh audio, I just changed my battery and

Was worried about the earthing, alternator and sun flares ...turns out the battery was on the way out :0, so in went an Optima.

The bass is back, high end is clear again - things are better Oh and starting is muuuuch better - pick-up off boost smoother too

Now all I need is a Nth Korean missile to hit

Marvellous

I've just got a new battery myself - albeit in a new car. Might look at getting an optima for it...

Hi Nick,

To be honest I was surprised at how "not expensive" (vs. cheap ) it was. About 20 quid more than a std OEM LLA, but still 50 short of a high end LLA batt (which is what was suggested to keep up with Tokyo traffic, summer, GPS, McI audio etc, etc).

Then again, el chaepo lead acid ones were roughly 30 to 50 quid cheaper <- gave up on LLA after my last two died after only 16 and 17 months respectively...

edit: forgot to say it is surprising how you can forget about the battery's role in "the sound" You'd think I'd know better
