David,

This could be going to the muppets mate

I know what I'm doing.

Fronts: 6.5" CDTAudio midbass, 2" silk dome CDT tweeters
Rears: dunno , but running off the 215x's rear fill output
Subs: 2x10W6 and/or Rockford Power 15"
EQ: 215x
x-over: Audiocontrol 4xs
Front amp: Soundstream 604 running actively
Rear amp: Punch 40
Sub amp: Punch 200ix (might not be enough )

That's about the lot for the moment
Nick.

Which CDT's we talking here ? You obviously rate them. How are you thinking of mounting them ...doors ? kicks are a bit tight for 6.5s no ?
Angled mounts ? enclosed or not ?
You may have guessed I'm trying to get my head round an install myself. grateful for any input, and by the looks of things you're pretty experienced with scoobies.

Have you still got the bass cube??

if so the bass cube and the power 15 with the punch 200 bridged at 4ohm in a sealed box might be worth trying..

is it dual voice coil?? (ie power dvc??) or just the old rfp series?

Still have bass cube, yes... Might try that, as you say it could be interesting

It's the old SVC from around 1995-ish? A vintage year

LOL, you think that's old - I've got a Blade DSP Servo kicking around somewhere that needs Windows 3.11 and a uni-directional parallel cable!!

A mate had one - the chap who I got the 15" off actually. Couldn't make the damn thing do anything useful other than increase the noise floor of the system...

CS&S really rated 'em though.

I think everybody rated them becuase they thought that they should

I got offered one about a year ago.. wasnt my cup of tea... didnt have a play but with my set of cd's it didnt do what I wanted..

so I bought two 12" xlc rockfords... not really the same but

It needs a system and a decent install (He just doesnt know it yet)

I vote for:

6.5" or 8" Mid/Bass in the doors..
4.5 / 6" in Kick Build..
Suitable SilkDome (dont think you like harsh tweeters??) in kick panel... (experiment with blu tak!)
Rear fill switchable from H/Unit use a coil to kill some bass say below 100hz
In-car pc..
Bass Cube.

Phoenix gold ecu.. hidden in passenger footwell?? parallel with ecu position??

or remote mount the sliders?

Mount the horns???

Two 10's & a 15 (not that you need much in a wagon...)

Oh and whole install must remove for practicality..
(have a nice solution for the power connections)

David

Yep, I have all that carefully acquired over the years... Subs were from the states, bought most stuff second hand or b-grade / factory reconditioned. I am tight...
