Question

So, it seems I need new speakers for the front doors...

That would be 6 inchers with tweeters and crossovers, right?

Should those crossovers be active or passive? I want a plug and play solution - as in take out old speakers, put in new ones - no other wiring (like power/earth/amps etc etc). Would passive crossovers do the job?

Thanks in advance

Passive that are designed for those speakers tend to work best.

For plug and play, go passive. As Luke says, most component sets will come with a matched cross-over.

If you've got the amp channels and the time to set it all up, go active but be aware that there's quite a few "challenges" to overcome, not least of which is the amplification channels you need

Cheers,
Nick.
