put a 12" sub in the boot of my my2000 and the spoiler vibrates like, well, like a vibrating spoiler, any known methods of fixing this? Can't hear it when in the car but not really a desirable side effect of an upgraded sound system is it???

Are you sure it is the spoiler? The bumper / number plate is more likely suspect. If it's the spoiler, I think you might have to live with it

De la soul... Aaah, them's were the days

It should'nt be the spolier as this just moves on the boot lid

The edges of the boot lid are what the vibration noises are...and I'm afraid that on a Scoob you have to live with it.. The Scoob is a very thin tin box!.. glad I've never had an accident in one...

I've got loads of sound deading in the boot area.. but to no avail

You say 1 12inch... you should try 2*12inch high powered subs then you'll wonder how the rear spoiler actually stays on!

the rear view mirror, yep, it shakes but the spoiler is the vibrator, if you hold it it stops! 2x subs, hmmmm, I have a 520w amp and 450w sub (rms) and it seems to be enough!?!, I think two might mean spoiler removal and the back end loses some aesthetics without it don't you think

Rear view mirror is fine - you just move it into the otheer position- i.e the one when the c*nts have got fogs/strong lights on you.. this is a more stable position and you just move it back up to the position you want

When you hold the spoiler you are pushing down on the boot lid....

Try 1000wrms........not really enough in a Scoob but it'll do.. now if I had the Estate instead that might have been a tad different!

Course I now have a 1.5 farad... which just about copes. I'm gonna get another farad and also one for the front speaker and a much better battery... never ending supply of money.. If I didnt have the Farads the police would be pulling me over when I had the bass on as its like flashing people with your lights when the bass kicks in!

the spioler on my my99 does the same with 1x300 rms kenwood amp and infinity kappa sub, if you hold the brake light it stops. So might take it out and see if i can put some sound deading mate in there as any one had the same and have you cured it.

no cure found yet, (aside from getting a mate to ride on the roof and hold the spoiler at all times!) it doesn't acually effect sound while in the car but it sounds a bit pants if you are standing next to it, I'll try some sound deadening stuff, see if it does anything, I have a feeling it won't though as I tried this with a large duvet and it did bugger all, except maybe fuel the neighbours suspisions about my unhealthy relationship with my car ;-)
