Dunno if anyone is interested, but Maplins are doing 300w inverters (suitable for playstation 2 / pc / xbox / ... and small tv) for 30 quid again in their sale. (20 quid off their normal price)
They're also doing USB->RS232 converters - useful if you're running out of serial ports to interface to your ECU - for 20 quid (a tenner off)
I use one of the inverters and they work with everything I've tried. The RS232 converter is going to be used to interface to the ECU
