I have just got a 98 WRX and want to put the stereo from my last car in it. It is a Pioneer 8400 with a separate DEQ 8200 DSP and a couple of Alpine V12 amps. The problem, of course, is that because of the DSP I need an amp to get any sound. So, is there a neat way of getting power from the battery to the boot? Am I going to have to resort to the dreaded drill or is there an existing route from the engine compartment into the cabin??

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Hi there,

Well, don't know if it applies to 98 WRX's, but the 99 UK model has a handy rubber bung blocking a hole in the bulkhead which I would *imagine* is used by aircon if you have it fitted... but I guess you have that taken up already? It's on the passenger side and is perfectly positions for dragging a cable through and down the passenger or centre of the vehicle to the rear.

Even if you have air con fitted, maybe you can share the rubber grommet in place instead?

Just a thought - good luck.
