..you know the 350 quid ones from Halford? Has anyone got one? Any good? Can the sound be run thru car speakers??
Any cheap alternatives?

The centurion bootmount dvd (the black bulky looking one) is supposed to be good, and you should be able to get it for nearer 200. If you're refering to the new single din silver version, priced at 300 or so, this has apparently had poor reliability. As far as i know, it has a standard rca out at least, so as long as your system is versatile enough you would be able to play it through whatever speakers you prefer.
