I am looking for a replacement head unit for my 99 scoob and the Clarion DXZ928R has caught my eye. Can anyone recommend it or perhaps recommend something else? I need to be able to plumb my M station in through an aux input and I see that this head unit has two RCA sockets just for this.
Spec is impressive also with room for future upgrades.

Any Help appreciated. I see I can get this unit for 299.99 delivered which I think is an awful good deal.

Question

Nobody Know?
Is Clarion considered to be "Good" or should I look at Kenwood or Alpine?

Beastie, I have one, but the standard speakers do not do it justice. I'm in the process of having Boston Acoustics RC620 put in the front with Dynamat, a Genesis Profile 4 amp and probably Infinity rears. Still thinking on a small sub as I don't want to drive around sounding like a complete dick.

As far as the quality of stereo, I've had Kenwood and Alpine, both have been very good, but this is personal choice. I wouldn't comment on what product is the best, It all really depends on the setup, as said I've got a extreamly good head unit but naff overall setup.

Many Thanks for replying. I have already upgraded my speakers to Alpine upgrades in front and Alpine 6x9s in the back parcel shelf so hopefully should be better prepared.
Did you get a limited edition "black" one or did you go for the aluminium standard finish?

There are two RCA inputs for auxilliary input, where are these inputs? are they on the back of the unit inside the dash? or somewhere else, like on the front? (want to plug my M station into them.)

Sorry for the questions but I am currently working in Norway (still!!) and I was going to order it on the internet for fitting when I pop home a weekend soon.

I have the 828. Running Mstation through Aux input. Can't fault the unit, decent features etc. Fitted myself without a problem.

Matt
I assume that aux input RCA's are at back of head unit then.
Think I will go ahead and order.
Many Thanks again

Beastie, I went for the Silver one, as the black one is silver underneath and scratches would show up. As for for the RCA, these are located at the back of the unit, I certainly haven't seen anything at the front. Also as MattW says, doddle to fit.
