Infinity vs Pioneer
#1
I'm not in the same league as the audio big boys on here (ie Dynaudio vs Focal), but have been looking at Infinity Kappa 60.5cs, Pioneer TS-C1300R, also Kenwood KFC-PSR51P and Alpine SPR-136A.
Any body got any views on these? Or any other ideas up to £140

So do the lack of responses mean:
1) you guys skip the cheaper stuff
2) you've looked into them, but not compared sound
3) bought them but don't have an opinion
or,
4) ya just don't luv me
I'll see if I can get a nice dealer to give me a listen
NB

Let us know what you think, I've had both pioneer and Infinity speakers before. The infinities are a little bright for my tastes, the pioneers are (generalising massively) somewhat similar. Out of the two, gut feel would inch me towards the infinity, but not having auditioned both I couldn't tell you - sorry

I had a demo of the infinities and they are so bright i couldnt believe it. I compared them to some genesis profile speakers and oh what a difference.
they are £150 for the 6.5" components having trouble sourcing them though as they are a new model and they are british too.
dont know what to go for in the rear though dont want to spend another £ 150, so may go for some kenwood or cheaper alpines circa £80. any suggestions.

My wife bought me some Genesis Profile components for Xmas, I thought they sounded a bit dull compared the old Infinity comps, so I've just had Infinity Perfect components installed - they sound amazing

I'm getting some infinity 655 co axes fitted to the front of my scoob sport on wednesday. They sounded really clear on the display with very good bass on them.
the pioneer's were voted best components in the recent issue of fast car. the kenwoods and alpines are also very highly rated in all the reviews i've read. I'd say you can't go wrong with any of those speakers mentioned, just down to personal preferance.

I find the infinity speakers are very very clear and excellent value, i have 505cs comps in the front and infinity 6x9's in the rear (can't mind model number), they are running off of an alpine amp mrv-f307 4x50w rms and the sound is mind blowing. But just to throw the cat amongst the pigeons, i've been hearing that the kenwood dulamags are awesome, but can't say from personal experience
