Question

Has anyone put a screen in the centre glove box and motorised it, or built it into the dash? I'm considering either:

build tv into the front bottom part of the centre glove box (in the area where the vents are) or
buidling something that flips put from the glove box, leaving things totally concealed.

anyone done this or used any motorised components? found this web site www.sproggy.com, this chap has motorised the display so it flips up; anyone a bit more techy minded might like to have a go at this!?

cheers

Cool

That's where i've got my screen. Looks great when on display and then folds away so you wouldn't even know it was there.

If everything goes to plan...

I'm typing this from the PC that's going in the car. Really impressed with the mini-itx motherboard (17cm x 17cm). I've just tested it decoding DVDs. There's the occasional frame skip, but nothing serious.

Just wondering whether I should try Linux on it now...
...but Win2K is working fairly well, and I have a license for it. And in the future it'd be easier to integrate with GPS etc... Hmm...

Wink

I has a custom built bracket (nothing too fancy). It allows me to pivot and angle the screen as well as fold flat so nobody knows its there. My screen is a 5" widescreen and fits perfectly in the tray.

Will hopfully get the hang of using my digi camera and upload some photo's soon

Marvellous mate! That'd be great.

I've just bought an LCD screen, so it's all on for getting it installed neatly now

i'd be very interested to find out about that bracket you've got that enables it to flip up and swivel - where did you get it and how much was it?

the screen is going in temporarily with a bit of velcro - i just need the satnavi in to find my way home!

Scooby steve, did i meet you at Forth Road Bridge Maccy Dees once? You had you centre box out at the time? Would be good to see what it looks like.

I managed to get a 5.8" widescreen into my topbox, havent gotten round to triming it yet though, tbh i havent used it much.....maybe in the summer months.

Nice, i quite like the more simplistic look of the neccy fold outs. Must look at getting a new STI next year....
