Stereo replacement for my Sti7
#1
Guys
Looking to replace the standard stereo, speakers (maybe add amp) in my Sti7 Prodrive. I know nothingabout ICE, although I know that I don't want either a DVD, Sat-Nav, TV or MD.
What I looking to do is replace the speakers without having to cut away anything, add an amp and replace the headunit, not bothered about multiple CD's. Would prefer to keep to all of 1 make and spend under £1k.
Any ideas would be really useful.
Cheers for now...

I have just had the Bluespot head unit replaced in mine with the Alpine 7893R, a very nice bit of kit. Although it deff needs the speakers replaced to sound a little better. I got the head unit for £240, will be getting 4 infinity's as they fit without too much trouble and work well with the head unit. £120 for a pair, probably cheaper if you hunt around tho. The head unit comes with 3 RCA outputs and a built in amp of 60W. Just requires some amps to power it along, hmm next month maybe.

Also, the headunit, is a single front loading Cd/MP3/CDR/CDRW player. You can have the multiloader fitted to it for extra cost though, but you wont need it if you use Mp3 disks.

I also fitted a Alpine 7893 and Infinity speakers in my Sti7. I've also recently added a small sub in the boot to give that little extra kick. The Alpine headunit is 60W x 4, this way I didn't need to add addition amps, but it does require a power lead straight from the battery.
I have some digital picture of me fitting the door speakers, including making the mdf spacers if you want them.
Cheers
Gareth.

Very easy to DIY fit, together with 6 disk changer under rear parcel shelf only took about 2 hours
