Poor Radio reception on STI UK
#1
I had the dealer switch the Double DIN stereo on the UK for a pioneer 9100 head unit I had in my RB5.
The radio reception is now extremely poor, I can only ever receive the very strongest of signals, in more rural areas I get no stations at all.
Would this have anything to do with the antenna being part of the rear screen on this model?
I have read on the Lancer register FAQ that lancers with this type of antenna have a signal booster/ pre-amp thing, and this is sometimes discoonected leading to similar problems is there one in the UK? Do I need one?

You DO need to power up the aerial in an STI, otherwise reception will be poor.
Connect the remote turn-on into the ISO loom in the standard position and it'll work as if by magic. If you had it fitted, go back and shout at where fitted it

On my pioneer, I simply had to connect up the blue remote aerial cable. The cable is split in the middle with a plug / socket affair, and is disconnected by default, so just plug the two ends together and everything should start working
