These custom bass boxes that fit the shape of your boot wells are they any good or not.

they are good if you get the right ones. You dont want the crappy wood ones. I got a company to mould me some up for my last car. Cost me £600 though as there is a lot of work. Were much better than the crappy ones you can buy for £150 though

Sorry mate.
Its just that i had the wood ones and thought they were good. When i decided to go for the proper moulds, i found these to be much better and really did make a difference. I was well surprised

What material have they made it out of then? I'm guessing fibreglass if you've got something exactly shaped to the site of the car. As an aside, I know one person who *hates* the sound of fibreglass boxes...
Good job we're all different, innit?
My box is 12mm MDF with shedloads of fibreglass to get the contours right...
