Oh lordy...
I'm after an amp. that can run off speaker inputs as I'm quite happy with the style/fit/function of my (er...FTO's) factory head unit.
I've found what seems the perfect beast - Rockford Fosgate 4.6x and a dealer flogging them at a good price. However I'm now told they're grey - he says they're Brand New and fully guaranteed; the UK distributor says the warranty certainly wouldn't be recognised by them - sound familiar?

Now I don't mind a bit of a gamble (obviously) but can anyone comment on The Car Hi-Fi Centre, 109 Cleveland Street, London (good or bad) direct to me or even here?

Thanks,

p.s. Yes, I'll be asking the FTO boys as well.

Unfortunately your best indication is your personal opinion of what you think they are like, do they seem fly by nights?

I am sure that I am now going to put my foot in it and there will be a deluge of replies telling me I am wrong..... However.

If the retailer is selling new equipment to you over the counter, he must comply with the sale of goods act. i.e. goods must be of satisfactory quality fit for purpose sold Etc. this should also give you a 12 month warranty? statutory rights.

Your transaction is undertaken with the retailer who is your first port of call if a problem occurs, I am fairly sure that he cannot legally sidestep that obligation to you.

Rockford Fosgate equipment is absolutely first rate equipment to start with though so you will probably be O.K. anyway.

Thanks all.
I've heard other good first hand reports so have gone ahead.
They certainly are cheap and current belief is they specialise in end of MY stock - no problem as far as I'm concerned.
Will let you know how it turns out.
