had mine in the boot on the left hand side and got smashed to bits!

 

Under a front seat or hanging from the underside of the back shelf.

You could build a wooden home for it.

In MY97 wagon, had it in the boot, hanging from the board into the centre of the spare wheel, unit is a snug fit and is completely out of the way. Was a little bit worried that it might skip but it has always been ok.
