I'm installing my Amp and speakers today and have had no troubles running the cables from the boot.
What I can't do is get the power cable through the bulkhead or the speaker cable through the grommets in the doors (MY99).
Can anyone give any helpful tips or pics on how this should be done?
Since I need the car back together tomorrow, I'd appreciate some quick responses.
Thanks,
Stefan

OK,
I've removed the kickplate over the ECU and found a handy grommet with only a plastic pipe through it.
Is this the air-con drain?
I'm going to use this as it's the only thing easily accessible.

Right, that's the power cable run from the engine bay to the boot.
Now has anyone any ideas how to get speaker cable through the door grommets?

This might not be the best way, but it worked for me. There seemed to be very little spare space inside the "tube" between the grommets, so I made a small slit in each grommet (outside the tube, but inside the hard ring which sits in the hole in the metal) and fed the speaker cable through this. Speaker cable was then tie wrapped against outside of tube. It's quite fiddly, and to slit the grommets (without risk of cutting any other wires) I popped each grommet out of its bodywork hole before slitting. In the drivers side you'll need to pull the wiring and multiplugs clear inside from the kickpanel - you'll see what I mean when you get it in pieces.

Stefan,
They're reet sods to get through. I didn't bother. I slit the grommet, and ran cables outside of the gromit. Tidy it up with electrical tape, and bob is your uncle.
If you do want to try, lubrication (WD40) helps. But not that much...
Nick.

Thanks Nick.
What I ended up doing was making a small pull-through using an old wire coat hanger and tied the speaker cable to that. I had to be very careful not to spear any of the existing wiring loom and not too scratch any of the paintwork. It took me ages, but it'd done.
With a lot of washing-up liquid, I finally managed to get the cable through.
The grommets are as tight as a duck's @rse and it's a job I never want to do again.

Yeah, it's a right bastid . The cable I use for my door speakers doesn't help either - it's the Phoenix Gold 10AWG stuff that, with insulation, is about the same size as 4AWG. bugger.
