I've got the VDO MS6000 unit.Works the sat nav & controls CD changer & tuner. Two years in no probs.Sound wise its a personal thing,it suits me.Only you can judge if your choice will sound the way you want.Try before you buy is best advice.

Very good quality units mate, if a little expensive for what you get. look very pretty, personally i think Alpine sound quality is second only to Nakamichi (but i havent got £1200 to spare for a head unit ). I prefer sound quality rather than toys, but hey, if it floats ure boat !! compare it to an Alpine in a shop

I looked at the Alpine units of a similar price, and to be honest they look awful (IMHO). Too fussy. I wanted something plain with not too many buttons and flashhing lights. I'm sure they sound excellent.
Ive ordered this one, hopefully delivered ready for a weekend install. Thanks for the advice all.
PS. I also saw a nice panasonic unit for £170, which played MP3 CDs as well. This seemed like a brilli9and idea, and a good price too.
