Hot glue will end up in a sticky mess when it gets hot. I used a metal mounting strip - you know, the stuff that always comes with a head unit that makes you think "I've missed a bit out"... Piece of metal with holes drilled in it.
I bent it over, screwed one side into the triangle and mounted the tweeter on the other side.

Si, you mount the tweeter to one of the plastic holders, then screw that to whatever metal bracket you use.
The holder has little lugs that the tweeter twists into to hold it in place.

In my first install I used velcro and flying connectors. Took the tweeters out of sight when leaving in an undesirable area...
Works well, and unlike hot glue, doesn't melt in the sun.
Metal strips give you the flexibility of being able to bend the metal to get the imaging right, but you do put a screw into the triangle thingy.

Si, don't bother with the velcro strips. Read this thread today and thought "cool, that's just the job". Trouble is they won't stick to the plastic trim properly.

Si,
I take back everything I said about the velcro. I had to clean the trianglular trim with hot water and soap to remove any grease and any residue from the interior cleaner.
Once it was clean, I stuck on the velcro pads and left for a hour or so while I watched the footy.
Sticks perfectly now, although still not adjustable.

Si, two things
firstly I may have some of the metal brackets that you are after I will have a look tomorrow and let you know
secondaly, it is not essential to have the tweeters up high, you can have them lower down the door and just point them upwards, this is what I have in my set up. One of the car audio guys told me that it was actually better to have them close to the mids,
if this is the case then you can use a 2" ish hole cutter adaptor for a drill and drill holes in the panels next to the speakers plates, again this is what I have done, looks superb as the tweaters sit relatively flush and still real good sound.
will main pics if you want

R u stalking me Rich
lol.
I think i shall go down the window mounted tweeters as even if it doesn't make a huge difference 2 sound quality i can always get a set of the triangle bits cheap from a breaker if i revert back 2 norm if i ever sell
but bits on door might b a bit more of a mission
Anyway u have me addy so if u do kum across any relevant mounts then i'd b gr8 if u kud stick 'em with da cable
Cheers pal.
