Question

Having problems hearing the radio/ tape /cds playing due to high road noise when travelling at highish speeds on motorway. Dont really want to turn the music up too load with 4 year old in the back. Could I place tweeters on the dash or place some special front speakers somewhere where I could hear the thing better without causing my daughters ears to ring? Is there a better way by reducing the noise levels in the car (without changing the PP SO3's)?
Thanks

Ringing in the ears isn't (normally) caused by excessive noise alone - it's distortion that causes your ears to really ring in my experience.

I would change your front speakers to something decent and that'll do the trick. Plus, if you haven't already done so, a head unit upgrade would really be the best first move

One way to reduce road noise is to install sound deadening. Of course, how effective this is depends on how far you want to go with it (ie how much you wanna spend). But you can do it in stages, allowing you to assess the effectiveness without spending big money. Prices start at around £20 for enough material to place behind the front door speakers (approx 12" sq. each side).
