Which Headunit?

I'm considering changing my existing Alpine CTA-1505R headunit for one with some newer functions i.e. AUX In, MP3,CDR/CDRW and DAB.
I want the new Dension MP3 player, but don't want to use an FM Modulator to connect it into my existing headunit. The new Alpine range look awesome, but they still don't have AUX-In.
Kenwood is the next obvious choice, but what about others such as Pioneer, JVC??
I've set my budget to around £300-£350 (not RRP). Is there much difference in sound quality between manufacturers if they're all around the same cost??

pioneer 8400. I think only one in range for mp3 so cant get it wrong.
mp3 cdr cdrw, looks great, great features. think it has an aux in. and can be used as a tv controller for multimedia, no fm modulator required and cn accept separate input of DAB but I wouldnt bother with that yet, it is crap!
can be bought for about the £300 mark if you know where to look.
try edworthys.co.uk and ask blowdog about his!

Im looking for the Pioneer 8400. Anyone know where I can get one cheapest?
The best ive found is £392 from www.mcs-direct.co.uk.
I called Edworthy's but they said they havent had any in yet and weren't able to give me a price, although they said they will call me back.
Everwhere else seems around £430-£480 (Apart from Halfords £599 - Joke!). Cant seem to find any around £300.
Cheers

I've got the Pioneer 8400 as well. If you don't want the racing cars / jet skis / spectrum analyzer etc, you can just close the panel and you have a really classy looking stereo. Sounds great, (better than the Alpines I've listened to IMHO - although that may have been down to the speaker setup), looks great, and has loads of useful features. Can't recommend it enough
