Default Hatchback Stereo Upgrade

Hi all,

I am looking to replace the factory fitted, multi-CD head unit with an Android powered unit and wondered what else I will need. I believe I will need the following:-

Android double din head unit
Double din fascia adaptor
Steering wheel control lead

Is there anything else?

Also can anyone recommend a decent head unit? Must be one with Android as the native OS and not built on CE.

Thanks,

Pioneer F960BT in my hatch. It's Android based and very good indeed.
It will also be compatible with Apple Car Play when the firmware is updated for it later this year.

In addition to the parts you list, you also need a stalk patch lead

Thanks for taking the time to reply. That's a nice stereo though was looking for a "pure Android" OS and preferably a stereo I could root.

I think that's the same as the lead I have already for my steering wheel controls?!?!

I've not seen a pure android head unit, no doubt such a thing does exist though.

It's early doors, but previously the Avics have been hacked to allow access to the underlying os. This way you get best of both worlds.
