Years and years as long as they aren't opened. The manufacturers tell you things like 3 years, but that's because they want to sell more. Off the record, they say about 10 years, as long as it's sealed. Just give it a shake to make sure the additives haven't settled out.

They are fine for daily use, if the oil is necessary in the first place. The Lightweight Shockproof is the one to go for, or the Redline GL5 NS if the gearbox doesn't need the Shockproof.
