Question FRONT BRAKE GROUP BUY ANY TIME SOON???

Want to replace my newage Front Brakes so I'm after some better brakes than the STD Newage Brembo setup.

Maybe 330mm 0r 360mm not sure yet will depend if I go the 18's route

anyone about to do a Group Buy?

Tony

Aztec Price £559- In Stock

some XENDO's XS6-500 6-piston with 330mm rotors kit = £670 Delivered

Or considering the KSPORT 8 Pots no Price

I have a set of the Xendo brakes here to try out , they dont fit my car , and the quality is not very good , the calipers are the wrong size for the discs , they are too small , there are blow holes all over the discs where they have been cast ,

I was looking at selling them if there were any good , but I wont be.

I got the larger calipers with the 355mm discs , the ones you mention only use the small pad from the Subaru 4 pots , so performance wouldn't be on par with other similar sized disc kits.
Cheers Ian

Many thanks Ian

Don't think I'll be investing in their direction

So essentially

if i wish to stay with the 330mm Disc's (17" Wheels) nearly as good to keep existing Brembo 4 pots calipers and just upgrade disc's and Pads (for some track use) rather than "8 pot" calipers and upgraded disc's and Pads.

But if upgrade I was to to 355mm (18"s wheels) ensure the Calipers/Pads are also larger than std Brembo pads.

Looks like 90% certain I will be going the 330mm route Performance Friction Brakes or yours

how much are yours??

There are many variables when it comes to choosing a brake setup. It's not as easy as to compare the number of pistons or pad size.

The Brembos with Performance Friction Discs, Bells and Pads work very well indeed on a fast road/track setup. They also give a very good lifespan.

Have a look at the PFC website for technical details of what makes their kits stand out from the others : Performance Friction

Cheers,

Bob

PS. a heads-up...the prices on our PFC kits will be going up after tomorrow lunchtime.

The prices won't go any lower than they are right now (there is currently £145 off). In fact they are going up tomorrow lunchtime and you won't get them cheaper anywhere else

I'm looking at the moment, will need them when my car is back out

How about Stoptech? I have provisionally spoken to a few suppliers about this and we may be able to get some good prices on these!

I will be chasing it up this week if anyone is interested?

Hi Tony,

What do you prefer about the Carbotech pads?

We do the PFC 'Z' compound for fast road/occasional trackwork and are looking at getting the PFC '01' compound for outright trackwork. That covers the range and they work superbly.

Cheers,

Bob

What about those of us with a WRX. I need discs, pads and possibly a caliper refurb kit... what's the best route there?

Tony
I can supply you our 2 piece discs and bells for £300 a pair , inc a 12 month guarantee against warping even if you do track days , I can supply you any make pad to go with these.

5T
I can supply you our 294mm grooved discs for £95 a pair , again , any make pad depending on your driving style.
I can supply you stainless steel pistons for £15 each ( will never rust again ) and a caliper seal kit which does one caliper for £19
If you have 17" wheels I can supply you our 335mm 2 piece brake kit to use with your standard 4 pot calipers , the kit comes with a full fitting kit , and larger than standard pads , again quite a few choices , this kit is currently £595.

Hope this helps

Cheers Ian

No worries Tony. Braking is an important thing to get right, afterall it can be the difference between ...

If you get a chance, read through the technical stuff on the PFC website- it shows true R&D of its race bred technology.

Tony,

I have just got the performance friction Brakes and pads fitted with braided hoses and good brake fluid, what a difference mate.
pedal feel is good and they are strong stoppers.

I would recommend them, very happy customer.

Hiya Tony - Long time no speak/type/whatever...

We use CarboTech XP8 pads in our racing MR2's (Yes more than one. Long story). Anyway, they're utterly amazing. Especially given they're OE size and used on OE discs.

I'm interested in the options available for the Impreza at this stage, as we've now bought a '95 WRX to race next year. That's currently got the small discs and sliding caliper jobbies on. Yeuch!

Hmmm, might have to have a word with Kev @ Apex...

Kevin Atkins (MAD Evo, winner of TA Club last year) was so impressed by his KSport set up all round after the second TA round at Knockhill that he convinced Russel Tweed (finished second in club at the round in an Evo 400) to buy KSport. Russel phoned this week and ordered KSport 356mm all round to replace his Alcons
