Talking classic 2 pot rear brake conversion

OK OK, Due to the badgering I've been getting through PM and email I will be starting another GB for these brackets

How would you like your classic to have these brakes on the rear?

Using these.

Easy DIY fitting with full instructions (see Link below)

I need 6 people to make it worthwhile doing a run, but I'm sure if we get more it won't be a problem and from the PM's and emails I expect this will be the biggest order yet!!
All those that have expressed an interest in these over the last few months will have a PM shortly.

These brackets allow you to fit the New age (MY01>) WRX 2 pot rear calipers and discs to any Impreza/Legacy currently fitted with single piston sliding rear calipers.
All you need are the Calipers, discs and pad from a MY01-05 WRX (Not STI or Classic JDMs as the discs are different, though the calipers can be used) and this bracket kit.

The kit will contain a pair of brackets and mounting bolts.
No special tools are needed to fit so no drilling or tapping of threads. They are a direct bolt on!!
Fitting instructions with pics here: Dyney's 2 pot rear caliper/bracket fitiing instructions

I ran the calipers on my car at Scooby Shoot Out last year and they have had some hard use in the 30k+ miles since and they still look as good as the day I fitted them.
You will be impressed with the quality of the machining and when anodised look very professional. (well they are!!!) Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but the finish of these blew me away

This is the simplest way to upgrade your rear brakes to 2 pots. If you have a jack, a socket set and a little know how this is a doddle

The brackets will be hard anodised grey (sort of anthracite colour).

I'am still negotiating the price but they were £160 posted last time so I expect they will be very simalar again.

Lead time is usually 4 weeks (TBC)

If your interested let me know or get your name down
Iain.

Dyney you do seem like the man to ask... can you manufacture and fabricate a bracket to hold Porsche 996 4-pot calipers on the front of MY02 WRX???

Turbo T,
No you can't use the front 2 pots. The bolt spacing and ofset will probably be different and I'm not sure if the brake bias would lock the rears when braking!!!

Alex,
Sorry no. A one of bracket would cost a fortune to have made!! That's the reason these are only available in Group buys as the costs are brought down considerably by ordering in bulk
There is a company called Movit that does a Porsche caliper conversion for the Scoob

The new improved brackets now fit the STI Gold Brembo calipers

But I'm still sorting out the insert for the 316mm disc to allow the STI disc to be used on the 170mm classic handbrake assembly

If your interested let me know. ATM I have no costs though the bracket will be the same price + the cost of the insert and any extra postage

So this bracket will work for the Subaru 2 pots and the Brembo 2 pots???

yep, but to fit the brembos you will need an insert for the STI discs
Which I'am trying to get a price on

Great stuff, let us know when you want payment.

Is it the same bracket that does the subaru 2 pot and the brembo or do we have to decide which one we want. Not running hanbrake so wont need the insert for the drum.

Hi Dyney,

Just a couple of questions.
I have an STi V3 with vented rear discs.
Will this kit still fit and will the diameter of the new WRX handbrake drum be the same size as now.

If the answer to both these questions is YES, can you add me to the list.

Turbo T,
Yes the Brembo's will fit, though the handbrake drum part of the disc is 190mm whereas the Classic and New age WRX uses a 170mm drum

Risk Taker,
If you have the single piston sliding calipers (which all but thye Type R's had) then yes

Guys,
If you want them get you name on the list and include Brembo if you will need the drum insert
Once we have 10 people for definate I will send you all payment instructions and then place the order.
Lead time is usually 4 weeks, but depends on the workload at the machine shop so it could be sooner

aurin,
I assume you still have the sliding rear calipers?
Then yes

scooby1979,
Looks like you have done that already

As a number of you are wanting the inserts to suit the STI discs I will press the machine shop on the cost of these.
