Talking Classic Remaps

So is anyone going to start a group buy for ScoobyECU remaps which ScoobyClinic are now offering for MY92-97 cars???

I suppose I could try and organise something if people show enough interest...let me know if you are considering a remap

Cheers

Been trying to get hold of Scott but no luck...think selling ScoobyECU's at £400 a pop on ebay is a full time job! ;-)

The website shows a price of £380 I think...I will have a chat with them and see what numbers they would need and what kind of offer they could come up with!

Not trying to take anyting away from the original thread but if there are a few of us looking for power from our MY98s and nothing can be done by the guys on this group buy we should organise something else. Maybe Power Engineering Remap??? Anyone any ideas??? I WANT MORE POWER SOON!!!

I have a scoobyecu which i purchased but haven't fitted yet. I would ideally like to get it remapped specifically for my motor after i have completed the mods i want.

I obviously bought it for more power but i need it to be reliable. I e-mailed scoobyclinic and they said it would be £380 but this seems a mad price to me seen as i have the chip and would fit it myself? I could be missing something but custom maps for other "ecu's" seem to be much cheaper on a map by map basis. Can you confirm this is just to remap it?

Ritchie (always willing to learn i'm wrong!)

If its £380 just to map it and you need to supply the chip yourself then you can count me right out! For the price they are selling on ebay that would be about £800 all in!! I'll stick to octane booster

I think it more likely that its £380 whether you have the chip or not. I think for £380 they will supply as well? It is possible whoever at scoobyclinic answered my query misunderstood what i meant but it was clear i thought.

I think it costs even more to then get it mapped on the road as opposed to the rollers?

There must surely be numerous people around capable of mapping scoobyecu for a lot less? Unless they've all moved onto the newer models?

If there is a chance of this being done for sensible money then i am deffo in.

Ritchie.

e-mail from scoobyclinic -

Hi Ritchie,
Have you just bought the board or the complete scoobyecu in it's case? Either way it will need a full map to suit your engine @ £350+vat and some roller time @ £75per hour, the switch will be an extra £35-£40.
hope this is of help

kind regards
Adam

Anyone know if this group buy will go ahead ?, and how much bhp we would get?. I know it all depends on what mods you have already etc ..., but it would be nice to have some sort of idea of expected bhp?.

Can't recall getting a PM mate.
Yes, I can still supply but to cut down on the hassle I used to get I now only sell through Ebay and supply the chip 'mapped' and the IC socket to fit in the ECU (required on WRX, but not UK).

The map is 16.11psi regardless of model (UK & WRX) for 97RON (Esso) pump fuel, no octane booster. The STi is still mapped to 16.11psi although they do have some fueling/ignition diferences.

I used to sell through Scoobynet & SIDC for alot less (Mug ) and also fit the IC sockets into the ECU's, but this all became very tedious for what I was charging.

Starting price on Ebay is always £60, but they seem to be going for anything between £300 and £420 at the moment.

I am out of stock again at present, but hope to get another batch of blank chips in a week or so.

The chip used is the correct one, but most of the words are from my advert.

It won't be mapped to 16.11psi because I have only been mapping to 16.11psi recently. Previously mapped to 15.5psi or 16.4psi.

It states it is a genuine prodrive chip, but these were only mapped to 13.64psi.

It may of been one of my old ones, or from one of the other sources of the 27C1028 chip. A bit of an unknown really......

What I can't understand is why people are paying £420 when you can get them for £380 from the clinic and they fit and map on a rolling road (I assume)...is it just another case of Ebay madness??

Not every Scooby driver reads S'net y'know. Also not everybody lives or can get to Derbyshire easily.
There's also probably not alot of difference in the maps either (if you have a pretty standard car i.e De-Cat etc...). I know PE didn't do much to my map, they just loaded a UK/VF28/440cc/TMIC map into my TEK then made very minor alterations which were mainly due to the 2-port solenoid setup which is a bit more tricky then the 3 port on the earlier cars..

The Scoobyclinic option comes into it's own if you have more serious modifications.

£420 was the 1st 2 I put on. The others have gone for between £300 - £360. I also won't be doing it forever, just using it as a means to print money at present, in order to get things all square before moving to a bigger house.
