Road legal - don't like standing water, but will work in damp conditions.
There are cheaper alternatives available anyway - although I think these are the best.
Dunlop Super Sport Race tyres are currently being offered very cheap - and only the very fastest guys would notice the difference.

Right sizes and prices are as follows:
Michelin Cup 205/55/16 (ideal for Calssics on 16's) £94
Michelin Cup 205/50/17 (approx same rolling circumference as 215/40/17) £110
Michelin Cup 225/45/17 (ideal for bugeyes on 17's) £120
