Default Alloy wheels respray group buy, manchester area

I've just hooked up with a chap that has a business doing resprays on everything that can be.
He did a lad at works OZ SUPERTOURISMOS, and very nice they were too
So, after phoning and having a chat, he's going to be getting back to me with prices for spraying my OZ SUPERLEGGERAS, which are a bit worse for wear after 80k+ miles.
The full price at the moment is £25 per wheel, with lacquering £10 extra per wheel if you want it.
All colours, all finishes, as far as I'm aware.
He's contacting next week to give me prices for 5+ sets, 10 sets and 10+ sets of wheels
He will need to keep your wheels for a few days, as they have to go in the oven after blasting to properly cure, if you don't have any spares to put on while you wait, I've got some my02 17" standard gold alloys you can borrow in the meantime (yes, they will fit a classic)

So, who's up for this? He is based in whaley bridge by the way, so lets keep it local

I may have a set of merc wheels from my dad...
I`ll have to arrange axel stands or just to do 2 wheels at a time.

I have 1 wheel that needs doing....

How does that sound?

Its an 02 wrx 17" wheel in a bronze/titanium colour.. I may have a pair done so that they match colour.

Merc wheels are 16" silver.

Also.. powder coating is only a few pounds more per wheel but this is a good way to go for custom colours I suppose..

Chris,

I would be interested:
- 17" gold S202 alloys (forged) and / or
- 17" MY02 Sti wheels (currently gold but may choose anthracite)

Would need to check whether the process is any different for the forged wheels.

I'll ask him, but to be honest, I'm not interested in sending or driving my wheels all the way to brum just to save a few quid. I'd rather get it done local, that way I've some comeback if anything is amiss.
If that place is closer to you catalunya, go with it m8, sounds like a steal

I've not had much luck getting in touch with him over the last few days. I'm still trying.
As soon as I do, I'll let you know details of discounts and whether he does refurb, which I'm sure he does.

ok, got prices and info this morning:

for up to 25 wheels (individual) £25 each
over 25 wheels £20 each

extras:
laquer £10 per wheel
metallic £10 per wheel
unusual colours £negoitable

he doesn't do refurbs, he doesn't put the wheels anywhere near an acid bath. Shot blasted, baked, sprayed.
I'll hopefully be getting mine done at the end of the month, let me know if your interested.

So is it paint sprayed or powder coated (both spraying at the end of the day though one wet one dry)? I'm sure its powder coating coz if he is spraying and charging extra for laquer, mettalic, colours etc hes having a laugh.

Don't you guys see what the point of a group buy is ? the whole point is getting a product or service for the cheapest possible price by using the bargaining tool of numbers. People throw in ideas everyone gets a good deal, the benefit is for the group.....
