so far we have 3 in this gb, only 1 more needed for the price of £135.
Just give Joe @ G-Force a call on 01296 434084 and mention the Scooby Net group buy.

already got a blitz air filter as it was on the car when i bought it but feel it would surely suffer from hot air being in engine based.

tas,
according to the aps website http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/wrx/airfilter.htm, this was originally developed for the V5 sti.
give joe @ g-force a ring if you have any queries, there the main aps distributors.

tas you should be aware that this 'GB' offers no real discount. You can buy for the same price elsewhere without having to partake in a GB.

Yes no problem, by the way this isn't a group buy as such, you can call G Force direct and quote me for their reduced price of £135 + VAT or you can try to see if Wallace have any in stock and pay £159 inc VAT, both the same price except that as G Force are the main UK suppliers so they cary a lot more stock !
Cheers...Jon.

Are you sure this fits 95 ra ? The one in the pic will not fit it, unless they stock a range of them for the 4 different types of classic fitment ?
Excellent addition to the 97/00 cars btw and at a good price, just make sure you get it mapped to suit before going on boost.

Sorry Andy, you're probably right, I wrongly thought they made these to fit any year but obviously not.
I'll listen to the voice of an expert anyday, thanks for the advice and appoligies to STI - R/A !
Oh and BR will be mapping the car for me in Jan so I'll leave the fitting of this and the TD05 I've got untill then.
Cheers...Jon.

I would fit a pipe from the MAF to the APS kit that fits the later cars. You can get a "top hat" adapter from Demon-Tweeks for around £15 that will bolt to the APS and then allow a hose/pipe to be connected.
Something similar to this but without going to the trouble of cutting a hole in the inner wing

Certain one's possibly can cause the MAF to fail, this is usualy down to either vibration if not fitted securely or oil contamination from the filter itself.
These kits bolt to the inner wing (see pics) eliminating the vibration and the filter being a KN does not cause any of the dreaded oil contamination.

I don't think they do, but i could be wrong, thats why i was looking at the top hat thingies on page 1 of this thread.
The idea was for the aps to bolt to a top hat then have a peice of samco hose and/or ss pipe inplace of the oem maf section and then join it to the original pipe work.
Thats the plan anyway.
I think i can remember a thread from a few years back where someone got an old maf section and hollowed it out making it just a joining piece, in theory.
That would probably be easier.

I won't be needing the MAF either as I'm having a Link fitted in Jan.
I wouldn't have thought that the redundant MAF would cause that much of a restriction in air flow though, is there a real need to hollow it out ?

I spoke to Joe at G Force this morning and due to a certain person, who will remain nameless, causing general problems with the original wanted thread, he is happy to send out the kits to the 3 of us who have already placed an order, at the agreed price.
Anyone who wishes to still take part in this group buy should still be able to do so as long as your quick, just call G Force and ask to speak to Joe.
Cheers...Jon.

Got mine the other day. Not really keen on the red colour though. I suppose I could paint the thing another colour.
I have a question about how the MAF readings may differ after fitting.
I know that these APS CAK cause the MAF to read incorrectly but was wondering if an HKS AFR would be enough to correct the difference on an MY98 WRX. Dont want to get a remap just yet and wondered if this was enough to keep me from blowing the engine?
