Default New GB on Mudflap DIY kits

I've spoken to Kay Dee (manufactures of Kaylan) direct and obtained prices and sizes of the Kaylan sheet.

The kit will make 2 front and 2 rear flaps and will contain :-
3mm Kaylan sheet (enough to the 4 flaps)
Aluminium sheet(enough to make 4 brackets)
Templates in either electronic format (AutoCAD, dxf or iges) or paper format.

The only things you will need to supply are the nuts and bolts and a small amount of DIY skill

There is no limits on the number of people in this GB, but I have to get orders in multiples of 4/5 (depending on newage/classic numberes) of the same colour.

The available colours are:-
BLACK
RED
YELLOW
GREEN
ORANGE
WR BLUE - (extra £9 per set)

Each set will cost £55 - £60 inc. postage.

I am not out for personal gain in the GB, just getting the material cheaper and helping some fellow scooby netters.

Post a reply if you are interested, stating what colour you want and whether it is for a classic or a newage. I will then add you to the list below.

I assume the offer of paper templates for cutting the flaps will still be included ?

As per Vinesh comments - will the alloy brackets be cut prior to sending out ?? I don't mindpaying a little extra for this to be done

sorry mate, if i do that i will be at it for weeks!! If you have a jigsaw fitted with a metal cutting blade its very easy to do. The templates (for both the flaps and brackets) will be printed out on a bit of paper the same size as the blanks of material, so all you need to do is stick the paper to the material and cut along the lines.

Payment: i will leave this running until the end of the weekend and see how many people we get so that i can order all the materials in one go, the more we get the more the price may reduce.

I haven't ever cut this stuff before, but i assume a sharp stanley knife will do it.

I'm a little confused on where we are with this.

Does this NEW GB include the brackets themselves too or jsut the templates to get them made up?

I'm interested in joining the GB (Black flaps for a classic) but am anxious over making the brackets as I'm not so hot at DIY. Could just about get around cutting the flap and fitting them if the brackest are included - will struggle me thinks if I have to make the bracket.

Can you confirm this for me please.

Cheers.

Max

2 more sets would make a perfect number!

Would people rather send a cheque or do a bank transfer??

Are you set up for Paypal?
I seem to be the only bluey - am I going to get flaps or is it still limited to gps of 3?

If anyone can cut this stuff with a stanley kife then they must (or will) have forearms like popeye!
It is very tough stuff and to keep it looking like a neat cut you need a hacksaw or dremmel.

Nick

cheers for the info about cutting Butty, would a jigsaw with a fine cutting blade (i.e. metal) do it?

I do have paypal, but if there are any extra charges you will have to pay up .

To get the blue material i will need 1 more blue order.
