Default b2

I dont understand were people have got the notion that fitting a B2 is a load of hassle!
I fitted mine in my wrx in 30 mins and have also fitted my wifes mini with second kit in less than 45 mins.
Other people that have bought off me have had theirs fitted in less than 1 hour.
Cable will be available any time now.

fitted in both of my cars in under 30 mins each.

Whats all this about hassle?

Far nicer than road angel, plus better feaures in my opinion. Also remote aerial means it doesn't have to sit on the dash, a big downfall of the original road angel.

How accurate is the database on the B2? I'm thinking along the lines of the speed limit on the road indication as Blackspot said they'd never include that to stop people suing them when they were done in an incorrectly displayed area... (i.e. the limit on a road changes and the db isn't up to date etc)

I might be transferring from the road angel to the origin g/b...

A mate at work who's on the CTR forum says they've had nothing but trouble with the new road angel but you don't hear anything on s/net - anybody got any info on the "problems" or otherwise - I'm willing to be corrected?

aps1 - as asked by Tandy, is there an NMEA cable available yet as I'd want to link my ipaq to the b2?

B2 didn't save me on Sunday, wandered into a poorly signed temporary 50 limit, B2 still called it as 70

Still very Impressed though.

Thanks for that Allan,

I suppose we get where we rely too heavily on the "gadgets" rather than keeping the eyes peeled I do with my Road Angel Classic as I use it / trust it as my speedo...

It's that kind of thing I was wondering about - is it possible to change the displayed speed limit in the b2's database which then uploads to origin for others to see after it's checked or are we stuck all the time with what's set at origin (no matter how up to date, or not, it is?)

You can log a new or removed location, which then gets uploaded, Origin then check the change and apply it if confirmed. This obviously doesn't always apply to temporary changes, which is why I got caught.

That's the same as the RA - if you enter a new location on the b2, do you specify the speed limit or does that get tagged on at Origin's end when they check out the road etc?

You just specify the location, they sort the limit to be applied.
