Default What next ?

Apologies if I'm repeating an already covered subject but I can't locate a guide or answer on here.

Basically I have the following mods running at 300bhp but what next to up this a little more without having to start up rating major engine components ?

Would changing the injectors from 380 to 440 just then mean a remap would instantly give me more power ? If so then what is next on the list ?

Or will it be a case of having to get stronger engine components to handle the increased power ?

My goal is to get as much as possible keeping it safe to drive and run without starting to have component failure that will start to get very expensive very quickly !

Any advice or suggestions very much appreciated.

Thanks

Mods So Far:

FMIC
TD05 Turbo
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Esl Ecu & Remap
Newage Coil Pack Modification - To be fitted as soon as I receive them
Bellmouth Downpipe
Full Stainless Steel 3.5" system Throughout

Granted not a massive list but I'm slowing ticking off the items on my to do list but just want to make sure I'm going in the right direction and putting the correct things on my list lol

To the best of my knowledge, 300bhp would be around the 1.1-1.2bar mark? Thats pretty much the limit of the standard MAP sensor depending on the year of car. If ur on 380s still then they'll be running at around 100% already. I 'think' the MAF can run about 1.5?? Unless ur MAFless now of course, but the real issue is going to be the internals. I've heard 300bhp is the 'safe' limit for standard guts, but also that some people have run 350 without explosions.

You done brakes and suspension yet?

Which TD05, 16g, 18g or 20g?

I would agree that those injectors will be pretty well maxed out by now, you run the risk of leaning out when pushing on.

Not sure exactly what turbo it is except that it's a TD05, how can I find out ?

I've now sourced bigger injectors and will look to see about suspension as brakes have been done

TD05,440 injectors, fuel pump, adjustable fpr and FMIC should give you 300 easy. I'm running this set up on a freshly built engine and getting 317 easily.

You can probably run about another 30bhp safely before your into braking things territory but that also depends on how you drive it, ie zero mechanical sympathy and you can break things at your current level, there are those that have run more and got away with it, it's a bit of a coin toss tbh.

440's should give you 330bhp.

440s and a later MAP sensor that will give you 1.7bar headroom. If you have gone MAfless then the MAF headroom won't be an issue. The same setup gave me 327hp, but it varies between engines/dynos, etc.

20% meth on map 2 makes a big difference and is definitely the most cost effective mod if you don't mind the hassle on fill up. I think I remember someone running close to 370hp on a similar setup + meth on a trackcar, though that may be an exceptional result.

FWIW we got 550hp on a stock location GT3076R, 780cc injectors, meth and an uprated MAP sensor on the ESL demo wagon at RCMS, so the sky is the limit ultimately. It's the only car I've owned where I'm no longer that fussed about extra power.

Remember phase 2 440 injectors won't fit your car without an adaptor kit.
What year car did the 440's come off that you've ordered ?

You have to fit the later map sensor or you will be limited to 1.2bar.

Hold on, we're getting ahead of ourselves here.

First off, the OP doesn't know what TD5 he has.
Second, where did it come from? It's not an ebay special is it?????

There isn't a direct fit for the early sensor, but it is only three wires so an easy job.

He has a early unmolested WRX so I would guess the car has the original TD05 16G

The 16G is standard fit on that car so I was making that assumption. Good enough turbo to get everything else on the car to it's limit and IIRC Dunc squeezed getting on for 370hp out of a trackcar on ESL (and a dash of meth I think). 330hp capable on pump fuel given everything else is working in harmony.

The standard YMMV applies due to the range of results from different dynos etc.
