Default 08 Hatch Pulling to right

Hi

First post so be nice

Bought a 08 Hatch Sti with Prodrive map etc.

Everything was perfect no issue till I suddenly started getting an issue as when I put some power down I get a huge pull to the right.

changed the diff settings and still get this issue even when diff open.

I thought this must be a tracking issue, had this done (will upload if I can results) and no difference.

The car feels dangerous and in no way the same car that I was driving in the first two weeks.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Who did the tracking? I'd get it to a specialist, not a tyre place. PowerStation, Carnetix, Scoobyclinic etc.

Are all the tyres the same? same pressures on each axle? Slightly higher front than rear?

Are all tyres WORN the same? Same make? same size?

not sure about the settings they've applied...here are the ones that come with the prodrive lowering springs, not sure what the default values should be

Minimum / Preferred / Maximum

Front camber: -0*50' / -0*55' / -1*00'
(for very aggresive use take this to max on adjustment approx -1*30')

Front toe-in (total): 0*08' / 0*10' / 0*12'

Front caster: 6*25' (Referential value)

Rear camber: -1*35' (Referential value)

Rear toe-in (total): 0*16' / 0*20' / 0*22'

Thrust angle: -0*01' / 0*00' / 0*01'

These guys did the tracking http://www.f1autocentres.co.uk/index.php

The front right had a tyre swap and I will check the air pressure but feels horrible. all The tyres are p-zero's.

really is a horrible pull

Mine has the pro-drive mapping and straight through exhaust but does it have the springs?

they weren't standard with the PPP...you'll need to check the springs, they'll have pro-drive printed on them somewhere. I assume the measurements above would be OK on the normal springs, but best get it checked by a specialist as Alcazar has suggested.

Called Power Station,

Says put right tyre on the left and test. could be a dodgy tyre. if not could be a bush. dont think its the tracking.

what should the psi be in 18's 32?

will also check the air pressure.

The above looks OK.

You say "tyre swap"? So how much more worn is the other one on the same axle?

no idea, I got a nail in my original tyre and swapped it over, the tyre i put on was a p-zero from my previous car that I had spare. almost a brand new tyre. going to see if i have any play in the wheel as in a bush issue if not going to buy 2 front tyres. I can't see this been any issues with the diff?

so you have 2 different tyre makes and tread depths on the same axle already?

both are still p-zero's front

The front left now has less tread than the right

very good link by the way. I'm starting to think new tyres should I buy two fronts only?

it might be a good idea depending on the degree of difference. i wouldnt imagine it would be pulling hard unless you had an actual fault with a tyre (misshapen or curbed etc) or if you had a significant fault with the drive to that wheel? i would pop into a specialist if youre not comfortable checking things over yourself

Swapping the two fronts may not be an option, most performance tyres tend to be rotation directional.

Its a tyre issue, quite common on the hatch if its got worn or odd tyres on the front.

Had the same problem. Swapped the tyres and it pulled the other way.

Yes got this sorted, ended up getting four new tyres (Avon ZZ5's)

First time with any Avons and a fantastic tyre so far!

The car now feels perfect thanks all.
