Engine warning light came on over the weekend. As I had Subaru Assist under warranty was able to get a hire car and a truck to take it to a dealer.

The dealer has advised that it was the knock link sensor.

1) What could have caused this?
2) Should the replacement of thsi be covered under warranty

Cheers

I may be wrong, but i would have thought that it was the knock sensor and not 'knock link sensor'. the knock link sensor is a stand alone sensor that does not affect the engine whatsoever....
Some components can just fail sometimes....
