Best Impreza For Clubman Rally Car
Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong section and also if this subject has been done to death.
We are nearing completion of our tarmac Nova CLICK HERE FOR PICS GALORE so my thoughts (and heart) are turning toward the next project, always loved Scoobys and firmly believe they are the Escort MK2 of my generation so a Scooby its going to be.
Question is what is the best basis/route to getting a 'competitive' and reliable car built for Clubman SV's and some forest events.
Considered getting a cheap classic and modifying it or paying more money initially to get an STI. Will we end up modifying an STI anyway therefore negating the extra money laid out when purchasing ???
We are more interested in the running gear, suspension, brakes, engine than we are cosmetics and shells as lightness/strength can be added when building
If anyone can point me toward any existing threads and build pics etc that would also be appreciated (I am a pic ***** )
Thanks in advance

Just something to beat Monaghan will do
When I say 'competitive' I just mean enjoyable to peddle and capable of holding it's own.
Already spent way more money and time on the Nova than originally intended so it will be a standardish car to kick off with hence why I'm considering an STI

As its going to be flat out everywhere and your not fitting a dog,box etc, then go for a 6-speed as the 5-speed wont last long.
They come in the newage sti. Or you can buy all the stuff for 2kish.. Id rather buy the whole car to start with lol
