Default kakumei headers

Hi, bought a set of second hand kakumei headers, have a problem though. They dont fit, have had a call off the garage to say they are hitting the sump and are quite along way off from fitting. Any ideas or solutions or do I need to get a different style sump? The model is a my00 classic.

Thanks

Hi mate, im not able to get pics as the car and headers are up the garage, wouldn't the up pipe be a different style though? It seems like the leg parts with the flanges on are too short. I have looked at pictures on the net of them and they look correct for a classic, could it be possible the car has a 2.5 bottom end or wouldn't that make a difference with the shape of sump the car would have?

I have just had a quick look online at the twin scroll up pipe and looks completely different in hiw it fits to the up pipe and a single scroll up pipe doesn't look like it would fit so must be single scroll headers but I could stil be wrong.

yep the uppipes are completly different, 2,0 or 2,5 block the same size, so cant be that, sometimes with aftermarket headers you have to force them slightly to go on, but they shouldnt be miles off, from bolting up to the heads, unless they have had a bang before, sorry i can help further,
cheers scoobymike

They were almost new mate and no damage and from what ive read on here normally go straight on and perfect, so the sump is the same size and shape for all the different engine sizes? Thanks anyway mate.

This is soooooo confusing now, they had a plaque on them saying kakumei , 3 bolt type up pipe the lot, so either ive been unlucky and bought copies or something has been changed on the car, ie the bottom end??

you will have to find out off garage, what is causing it not to fit, is it not bolting up ,or hitting on something. as you say . bottom end. they all the same mate, 2,0 2.2, 2.3, 2,5 block all the same.
best wishes scoobymike.
might wana check off supplier, u might have bought a copy..

If they have been used they must fit a Subaru engine. Is the mechanic any good?

Its my normal garage but I think different mechanic, they have looked after all the 4 scoobs I had and have changed 2 pairs headers before including cheapies with no problems, so a bit confusing why having problems now.

Was there a certain way you had to present them to the heads? Like a funny angle then twist or anything or just simply hold them up and bolt them on? Cheers
