Default Will it need a remap ?

Just changed the rear peashooter type exhaust on my WRX for a Prodrive one . I was told also that I could if I wanted remove the centre section for a straight through pipe ?

My question is , if I was to get the centre pipe changed for a straight through section , would the car HAVE to be remapped ?

The cost of 500 notes for an initial remap I cannot afford at the moment ... so what gains if any would just the pipe make ... just more noise ? Lack of power ?

I would buy a wide band lambda and have it in your car. I doubt just a back box will lean your car off significantly on its own, especially if you are retaining the cats. Also monitor boost, an increase in boost will be a clue that the ve has been improved.

If you are just removing a silencer and changing the back box you'll be fine.....its when you get to downpipes, changing cats out etc that you need mapping.

Thanks guys . So no real gains or losses then , just added noise ? If it's just noise I may just keep the standard pipe fitted .

I went the other way, from a Ninja exhaust to the pea shooter and noticed less mid range torque.

£500 notes for a remap, you can get open source for half of that. Speak to Racedynamix unless you personally have preference for going for something else.

Changing the exhaust from a cat back standard to a cat back prodrive one or a ninja cat back and still have the 2.5inch pipe the difference will be hardly anything but I would reset the ecu so the car can learn the free flowing exhaust
