heat wrapping up pipe - any point?

Default heat wrapping up pipe - any point?

got a decat sti up pipe to fit to my wrx before its map but wondered if there is any point it wrapping it before fitting?? i have enough wrap here and im going to be doing the downpipe before that goes on.

also if i was to wrap the up pipe is it worth removing the heat shield thats on it??

oh and what about porting it? the ends look pretty naff

Hi Leeroy.
yep wrap the uppipe after removing the heat shields, and do down pipe as far as you can, all helps, as for porting, every little helps.

Wrap it if you have some. The hotter the gas the faster it flows.
Same goes for turbo blankets, keeps the heat in the turbo but a lot dont like them as they think they cook the turbo. So long as you cool down after a bit of a blast it should be fine.
