fitting neutral position switch 03 STI
having a misfire on cylinder 1 with the flashing cel light. checked the plugs this morning all seem to be fine. have ordered some new ones just incase. still the same p0301 shows on the diagnostic scan. looking at other posts and forums it seems to be a faulty neutral position switch. just wondering on the easiest way to fit a new one, or anyone no of a step by step guide anywhere??

I had one fitted to my 05 STi but by a specialist not myself, aparantly it's on top it the gearbox and the gearbox has to be dropped out to get to it, but I'm sure someone with more knowlage may be able to give more info

cheers mate, been reading about taking of the gearbox mount that is under the intercooler. this drops the gearbox at the back end apparently. but as you said someone with the know how would be better.
It is on top the box. But the box doesnt have to be removed. The gearbox crossmember needs unbolting to lower the box and also the top engine stay. This allows the box to get low enough for access with a spanner.
