CEL light on 2001 Bugeye WRX!

I bought my 2001 Bug WRX Wagon 10 days ago and today
on start up the CEL light is on continuous.

Any ideas where to start with this?

Car starts and runs fine, boosting well.

Get a obd 2 reader and find out what the code is

After searching a few similar threads I tried restarting the
car 3-4 times and now the CEL light has gone out.

Still worth having a code reader to hand in the future and for what they cost they are certainly handy to have at hand. I have the Bluetooth and the WiFi versions
