Default Steering problem

Hi I changed my wheels and tires last weekend and at the same time my steering wheel from an omp wheel to a factory STi item, a few days later I notice up and down play in my steering wheel and a loud dull clunking noise from the front left wheel when on full lock at low speeds?

I am guessing the wheel issue is a CV joint or maybe differential issue but I was wondering if the steering wheel problem was related. (Unless I didn't tighten it enough and it's come lose?)

Any help appreciated

Move the wheel and feel the steering column at the same time. Rather than lift and press the wheel, try to rock it.

If it rocks, it's odds on you've not tightened it enough, don't drive it until it's tight! It will already have started to damage the splines if loose, further damage may be fatal to the steering column and wheel

Sorry, I can't diagnose the clunk.
