Default Some help on some mods....

Afternoon all!

I have a blobeye wrx and wanting some advice really on what you need for the below:

-battery relocation - loads of people have done it but what cabling do you need to do it? I've seen numerous home made battery trays and finished locations but no idea on what cable and connectors are required.

-catch can - I have bought a 3 port baffled oil catch can but before I start I need to order the hoses I'll require. Anybody know what diameter and the likely lengths of hose I will need please?

-what is people's view on the carbon canister removal? I'm sure I've seen a guide somewhere but just wondered what peoples views were on removing it?

-rotated inlet manifold - I've ordered the brackets to flip the alternator ready but just wondered if anyone had any info on what bends etc were required to do it before I have to work it out for myself once I get my car in the garage and then have to wait for the bits to arrive?

Thanks for your help guys!

Adam

Hi Adam

What power you are running ?

Do you running FMIC or TMIC?

What is yours target bhp?

Porting inlet manifold is in my view pointless and with rotating inlet manifold not sure if its worth, yes if you are running larger turbo etc.

Running 360hp at the moment. It has a japspeed front mount with an sc36 turbo.

I'm not after a great deal more power but spool and drivability.

Wanting to go track daying more so leaning the car towards that now as it's only a weekend.

Thanks, Adam

Hi Adam

360bhp is nice power for WRX,have run 350bhp and we are loved this power

Spool you can gain mainly with going towards to TMIC and headers and Up pipe

Are considered to run meth on yours ?

For track day car I would go down route mainly suspension setup like ARB,roll centre kit,ALK and other bits which can or will improve the handling

You can have 600bhp,but if handling is not sorted, you still will be beaten Clio in corners

I went front mount from an sti top mount due to wanting to go track daying and was concerned about inlet temperatures and the 'air passes straight over the scoop at speeds over 80mph'.

I have Harvey headers and up pipe on the way, was wondering if there's any benefits to be had on the inlet manifold side of things (sti with tgv delete fitted)?

I currently have poly bushed the entire car, 24mm whiteline rear arb, solid super pro drop links at the back and whiteline items at the front, eibach pro springs on standard shocks. I assume coil overs is next on the handling front? I was going to wait until I'd bought a big brake set up before buying coil overs as thought that would be money better spent?
