If it is the same garage that done the belt, tell them to replace free of charge. The belt should last 4 years / 50,000 miles and look like new when its removed, it is changed as a precaution at 50,000 miles. It sounds as if they have skimped on pulleys or tenisioner and or ill fitted the belt gaurd too close to the belt.

I would not be impressed if it was me after 15,000 miles, also question why the removed the belt covers if its not even a third of the way through it life span.

Hi bud thanks for your reply.A few days ago my eml came on with code p0021 A camshaft position .So they were worried about the cam belt skipping a tooth or two so removed the cover to check and that was what they saw.The belt was fitted by a garage in wales before i brought the car 2 yrs ago so dont think ive got leg to stand on..........

Not so good, personally I would go for the subaru belt kit with tensioner etc , as above should be worry free if fitted correct for 50,000 miles/5 years. I think my cambelt service at 50,000 miles was about £600(subaru dealer).
