Default Roll cage?

Hi,
Firstly I apologise if I have placed this in the wrong forum.
I bought my first Impreza a few weeks ago needing an engine rebuild. I intend on building this as a trackday toy but I may do some hillclimbs/sprint events and possibly take it further later when money allows. The car I bought has come with a bolt in roll cage fitted but I'm unsure if it is one that is acceptable for motorsport. It's a six point cage with a rear diagonal but the reason I wonder about it's validity for motorsport use is because of the front bars. They are the type that go forward and then drop, following the A pillar but then bend back in order to avoid the dash board before bending forward to meet the welded in mounting plates that is it bolted to. It has an OMP sticker on it but the cage has been painted previously. I haven;t had much time with the car to look at the cage further to see if I could find any other marks or stickers on it. I was hoping somebody on here may be able to help me with some advise?
Thanks,
Andy.

Get a few photos up. Someone will know the cage for sure.

These style of 'dash dodger' cages have been outlawed in motorsport for some years now.

Ok, I'll get some pictures and look more closley at the cage. If I changed the 'dash dodger' front bars for some normal one's as they are bolted to the cage what requirements are there for being able to use a cage in motorsport? Is it purely down to the scruitineers?
Thanks,
Andy.
