Good day

I have a trusty EJ18(1994) Impreza AWD which I need some sound advice on making a decision.
I would like a lot more horsepower and a project to be started shortly.
I am not a speeding type of person but would like additional power to what the EJ18 can deliver.
Fuel consumption will not be an issue as this would be a Sunday car AND one I drive over short distances.

My questions are:

1-What is the highest capacity straight swop I can do on the GL.
2-What is the highest capacity with minor mods.
3-What is the suggested upgrade without doing major stability mods etc.
4-If I decide to rather recon current motor- advice on turbo or supercharger.


Many a time I have wanted to upgrade the car but once you own such a great car it is difficult to let go .

I have read that the EJ22 is a good choice but I am no mechanic and definately no Subaru expert .
