Default Steering problem

Hi could do with a bit of advice. steering is hit and miss over the last few weeks, every now and then steering wheel shakes as if balancing is out but this can be at any speed, also feels like the car will try and pull itself one way or the other, checked the fluid on power steering and was a little low but still on the lower mark of the dipstick had it jacked up and all seems tight any ideas would be great cheers

Have you checked to see if any of the wheels are buckled? Also trackrod ends for any play in the ball joints.

That's what I thought about mine, as mine only did it above 60, found 2 wheels were buckled.

might do just with it being intermittent it is puzzling me. Does it sound like the pump on its way out or just needing new fluid.

Is the pump making any funny noises if you turn the steering from lock to lock when the car is stationary?

yes pump seems to whine a little when turned to full lock but that's the only time it makes a noise

To be honest I can't see it being the pump, but if you have a local garage close to you it might be worth getting them to have a look at it just to be sure.

You need to get under there with axel stands and wheel off and have a really GOOD look.
