2.5" exhaust to 3" need a remap straight away?
Hi All,
quick Q!
I'm about to change my exhaust from a 2.5" bore to a 3" bore, will I need a remap straight away?
I don't mind driving off boost until i get a new map, probably middle of next month. But, just want to know if i should definitely keep off boost, or if i will be OK on boost, just not running efficiently until a remap?
Please dont take this the wrong way guys, but i'm not interested in replies that dont help with my question, or telling me to stick with the 2.5". I would like to stay with the 2.5, but circumstances dictate me having to go 3" (i already own both exhausts).
Cheers all!

Yes, it will need the map adjusting - the swap to a freer flowing, larger diameter pipe is likely to cause a boost spike/overboost condition when the turbo spools to full boost pressure - you will be able to drive around off boost without any issue though.

How much of the exhaust system are you planing on changing? If it's only back box and centre section (cat back) then you should get away with not having it mapped, but if you change anymore than that then a remap would be needed.
