Default After a bit more power!

I've just bought a 313bhp 2001 WRX and need to start making it mine somehow! I feel it needs just a bit more grunt to make it perfect so what can I do in addition to the following current changes?

VF34
1.4bar
Tec 3 remap
3" Blitz Nurspec, Magnex decat
K&N induction pipe
Exedy stage 1 clutch
Walbro fuel pump

I've read that the WRX intercooler is good for 350bhp, which I think will probably be about what I'm after powerwise, obviously to keep the torque at about 350 would be awesome too! Otherwise just upgrade to STI intercooler for <450bhp and drop some torque.

I'd going to be making a cold air box instead as I'm not so keen on the K&N disappearing off into the arch so that might help a little. I'll also be getting hold of some silicone pipes, including the turbo intake just to clean the bay up a little.

STI pink injectors?
Boost controller, standalone/piggyback ECU recommendations?
Different cams?

It's got Scoobyclinic decals in the windows so I know it's been there for work before, also I have paperwork from a place called Powerstation UK in Gloucestershire. is there a specialist in the Northampton area? I don't mind travelling a couple of hours to get some decent results

Any advice would be brilliant

Hi there

Yes WRX TMIC should be OK and effective up to 350bhp and above that STI TMIC or FMIC is better option

What are yours option?

If you are running 315bhp on yours WRX,then you should have already Pink injectors,I would check what injectors you are running, without this you can waste money on injectors

What turbo you are running right now?

I doubt you are running TD04 if you are running 315bhp

Boost controller you don't need,OE ECU can control boost nicely without the boost controller

Yours ECU is mappable like via Open source or EcuTek,you don't need aftermarket ECU/standalone or piggyback

Speak with mappers over here like Simon@JGM,Bob Rawle and Duncan@Race Dynamix, all of them are mobile mappers

I would speak with them and if you want best guys in yours area speak with Paul@Zen Performance

Hope this helps

Sound's to me like you have a restriction somewhere, ie a cat, what turbo up pipe do you have? and are you sure your exhaust does not have any cats left in?

The reason I say this is your turbo is capable of the power your after so something is holding it back.

I'd go have a chat with paul at Zen Performance, he's one of the best in the country and right on your doorstep.

Pretty sure there are no CATs left, but I'm not entirely sure. It was up on my mechanics's car lift yesterday and from what I saw the exhaust just bolted straight up the actuator with straight pipes all the way to the back.

Sorry I'm pretty new to turbos, not so sure on which pipe is which and component names etc. Probably best to get down to Zen and see what he reckons though as you say, always nice to get a professional opinion
