280BHP P1 Ecu in my uk2000 what will happen

my mate says I can have his old P1 ecu, he recons it should plug straight into my car and run fine with the mods I have and give me some good gains! is this correct? ive read a few threads and some say yes n some say no?

it will go bang, the p1 uses a different maf and turbo.

Wont work, its an sti ecu to start with and mapped completely differently, if you want more power then i would suggest a remap on your own ecu.
