Default a few questions from a newbie

as title says im new to subarus,
she needs front and rear discs and pads. ideally the cheaper the better atm so if any1 could point me in the right direction that would be great

Q1
so I started to take the front caliper/carrier bolts out (only the bottom so far but isn't full way out) and it was so bloody tight is only about half way out and Im curious to know if this normally pulls the alloy threads out of the calipers? or if normally its jus the shoulder on the bolt that's really tight with rust on the bracket piece which the bolts go through?
if worst comes to worst do u guys get ur calipers time certed/helicoiled? or is it game over for the calipers?

Q2
she seems to tick over at around the 500rpm mark once warm is this normal? doesn't try to cut out or die
is there a screw that I can adjust to stop the throttle wheel closing the butterfly as much? or is that a bad idea?

Q3
can some1 tell me exactly what model I have? when im looking on line for parts I can see codes ie GD,GG 2000-2013 and so on but I have no idea what these mean or what 1 I have lol, I can supply any details needed

Q4
what grade of g-box oil and rear diff oils do I need? and which are the best? want to change these for peace of mind

im sure there will be more questions but cant think of anymore right now

Hi there

What Impreza do you have or what year is yours ?

Its hard to say which parts do you really need and what discs and pads do you need, without the knowing what year is yours car and what model do you have

On Q1,yes usually brake callipers can be helicoiled(with some Brembo this is common practice)

Q2: Please check if you don't have stored any error codes or if you don't have CEL(Check Engine Light)

Q3: What year is yours

Q4: Someone will come here and recommend you best oils to use

With the oils, go for the Motul Gear 300 in the gearbox

In the diff, Fuchs Gear 90LS, Shell TS90 and Motul 90PA are ideal.

hi I have a 2006 impreza wrx sti uk type blob eye 1 of the last made I think

yeh I got one side apart and what was tight on that side was the shoulder of the bolt and the daft bracket bit, threads look gd, I take it the bolts are ment to beable to come fully out of the bracket?

I got front discs and pads from euro car parts for 90.odds that's obv at trade price but seem a gd deal to me

I haven't checked fault codes as I didn't think there would have been any because the eml does not stay on, but its work a check since we have all the equipment at work
what does ur scoob idle at?
